Who’s First?

Posted: August 20, 2015 in Christian, Islam

In the 19th century, a man by the name of Joseph Smith saw a vision.  An angel appeared to him and gave him instructions to start a new religion because all the previous religions were corrupted.

He received revelation for a new book, Book of Mormon, to replace all previous revelations.

Joseph Smith declared himself to be the last prophet in the line of Moses and Elijah.

Today, the religion he started, Mormonism, is the fastest growing religion in America with close to 16,000,000 followers (2014) and expected to rise to 250,000,000 by 2080.

But wait a minute….

Muslims all over the world will laugh at Joseph Smith and his so-called religion!

Because Islam came earlier and already made all these claims.  Joseph Smith is just an impostor and a liar.

According to Muslim beliefs, Muhammad is the seal and the last prophet. The Quran is the final revelation for all man since the earlier revelations were corrupt and Islam is the true religion.  And just because Mormonism is the fastest growing religion in America, does not mean that it is true.  Joseph Smith is just an impostor and a liar.

But wait a minute….

God the Father set his seal on Jesus. (John 6:27)

John the Baptist closed the prophethood as according to Torah. (Matthew 11:13)

John the Baptist was sent to prepare the way for the coming of God. (Malachi 3:1, Mark 1:12)

Jesus came to bring the good news of a new era for man through the Kingdom of God. (John 5:39-40, 10:10)

But is there anyone to come after Jesus? Someone asked Him this very question.

“And said to him (Jesus), “Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?” (Matthew 11:3)

Jesus gives the answer by offering evidence of what He was doing and speaking, confirming that there was no other prophet coming after Him.

What about the Muslims claim that the Bible is corrupt?  What about the claim by Joseph Smith that Quran and earlier books were corrupt? Well, Muslims argue that Quran is not corrupt because it says so. No one can change the words of Allah (6:115)

Well, the Bible says that the message revealed in it is forever. Isaiah 40:8 The Word of our God endures forever.

And Jesus Himself said, “My words will never pass away.” (Mark 13:31)

Does the Bible claim that Christianity is the true religion?

In Matthew 13:24-29 & 36-43: Jesus tells us a parable and explains that The People of The Kingdom (true Christians) have been sowed like good seeds into the world by Him .

AFTER THAT, satan comes and sows bad seeds that grow like weeds among the good seeds. The bad seeds are the people of false religions like Islam and Mormonism,  and like weeds, they can grow very fast! 🙂

But at the end of the age….when Jesus comes back…..the “weeds” will be plucked out and thrown into fire!

“The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear. (Matthew 13:41-43)

So what does the Bible say about religions, prophets, books that come after Christianity?

“Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse! (Galatians 1:7-9)

In summary: Islam, Muhammad and Quran are cursed.  So is Mormonism, Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormons.

Jesus answered, “I am The Way and The Truth and The Life. NO ONE comes to the FATHER except through ME. (John 14:6)

What Is The Bible? Part 1

Posted: August 10, 2015 in Uncategorized

Today let’s learn what the Bible is.

Most Muslims have a wrong concept of what the Bible is. They think it is like the Quran.

The Bible is NOT God’s recitations to man or to an angel. God did not transmit the Bible word-for-word. Muslims think that every verse in the Bible was spoken by God. That is a wrong understanding.

When we say the Bible is the “Word of God”, it does not mean, all the words in it were UTTERED by God.

“Word of God” means, it is God’s true record of words spoken or written by people. Yes, there are words spoken by God in there, and there are also words spoken by good men and wicked men, kings and beggars, truths and lies, the words of angels and even the words of satan are contained in the Bible.

Now, some of you muslims might be shocked reading this. You will point your finger and laugh and question how can we say lies and the words of satan are in the Bible!

As I said, the Bible is a RECORD of all these words. This does not mean that the record of what a wicked man says in the Bible is true. The Word Of God confirms it is true that the wicked men did say it but what he said may not be true. Do you understand?

Here is an example:

In Psalms 14:1, we find this statement. “There is no God.” WHAT??!!!???

Is the Bible teaching atheism here? If you pull this verse out of context, that is the wrong impression you might get. But you need to always read the Bible in context.

Who is speaking these words? Is it God? No. David records that these words were spoken by a “fool” . The meaning in Hebrew is a “foolish, senseless and morally deficient man.”

Can you trust the words of a foolish, senseless and morally deficient man? I wouldn’t.

The Bible records that this fool said these words. The Word Of God is 100% true that he said it. But what he said is 100% false. Do you get it? Why are the words of a such a fool in the Bible? So that we can learn from it and don’t stoop to becoming “a fool” ourselves by claiming ‘there is no god.’

Many of the misconceptions you have of the Bible can easily be resolved this way, if you simply understand who is speaking, to whom, and why.

If God is speaking, we can be assured that His words are 100% true. If an inspired prophet is speaking, we can also expect his words to be true. If a man is speaking, his words may or may not be true, depending on the context. If the Bible records the words of a false prophet or satan, we can expect that it is a deception even if the words sound true.

For example, in the Gospels, there is a record of Satan quoting from Deuteronomy and Psalms. The verses he quotes are true, written by Moses and David. But satan was misusing the true words of scripture and taking it out of context to DECEIVE. When you take a scripture verse out of context, you are doing exactly what satan does.

Why do muslims think that the Quran has been perfectly preserved? Because that is what they have been told. Have you bothered to check for yourselves if this is true?

Well, let’s put it to the test. Prove it. Bring your oldest manuscript and let’s compare it with the present quran and see if it is the same.

One of the most important findings is the Sana’a manuscript in 1972, which carbon-dating puts the origin of some of the parchments to 645–690 CE, while calligraphic dating has pointed to their origin in 710–715 AD.making them, perhaps the oldest Quran in existence.

The study of these documents were undertaken by Gerd R. Puin of Saarland University, Germany. Puin is a renowned specialist on Arabic calligraphy and Quranic paleography. For more than 10 years he extensively examined these parchment fragments.

What did he find?

Puin, after extensively studying these manuscripts, came to the conclusion that the text is actually an evolving text rather than simply the word of God as revealed in its entirety to Muhammad (Warraq, 2002, p. 109).

…disturbingly at odds with the existing form. There are unconventional verse ordering, small but significant textual variations, different orthography (spelling) and different artistic embellishment (decoration)…

Puin even concluded (cited Taher, 2000) that “It is not one single work that has survived unchanged through the centuries. It may include stories that were written before the prophet Mohammed began his ministry and which have subsequently been rewritten”.

Puin’s findings also confirm Wansbrough’s assumption on the Quranic text. In the 1970s, Wansbrough concluded that the Quran evolved only gradually in the seventh and eighth centuries after a long period of oral transmissions

Said Puin, “My idea is that the Quran is a kind of cocktail of texts that were not all understood even at the time of Muhammad. Many of them may even be a hundred years older than Islam itself. The Quran claims for itself that it is ‘mubeen’, or clear. But [contrary to popular belief] if you look at it, you will notice that every fifth sentence or so simply does not make sense…the fact is that a fifth of the Quranic text is just incomprehensible. If the Quran is not comprehensible, if it can’t even be understood in Arabic, then it’s not translatable into any language. That is why Muslims are afraid. Since the Quran claims repeatedly to be clear but is not—there is an obvious and serious contradiction. Something else must be going on”.

The extraordinary discovery of Puin had fascinated Andrew Rippin, a Professor of religious studies and a leading expert on Quranic studies. Rippin (cited Warraq, 2002, p. 110) concluded, “Their variant readings and verse orders are all very significant. Everybody agrees on that.

Warraq (1998, p. 14) has the same view as Rippin, “Muslim scholars of the early years of Islam were far more flexible in their position, realizing that parts of the Quran was lost, perverted and that there were many thousand variants which made it impossible to talk of ‘the’ Quran”.

There is another proof that Quranic messages were distorted in the early days of Islam and nothing like ‘The’ Quran does exist any more. Inscriptions of several Quranic verses are decorated on the Dome of Rock of Jerusalem, which is most probably the first Islamic monument meant to be a major artistic achievement, built in 691 CE (Whelan, 1998, p. 1–14). These inscriptions significantly differ from the present standard text (Warraq, 2000, p. 34).

Cook and Crone (1977, p. 18) concluded that “[The Quran] strikingly lacking in overall structure, frequently obscure and inconsequential in both language and content perfunctory in its liking of disparate materials and given to the repetition of whole passages in variant versions. On this basis, it can be argued that the book is the product of a belated and imperfect editing of materials from a plurality of traditions.” Crone (cited Warraq, 1998, p. 33) wrote elsewhere that “The Quran has generated masses of spurious information”.

So much for “the perfect, timeless, and unchanging Word of God”. This proves that the Quran has been distorted, perverted, revised, modified and corrected, and textual alterations had taken place over the years purely by human hands.

Is Jesus The Same As Isa?

Posted: July 22, 2015 in Bible, Jesus, Quran

Let’s settle this issue once and for all today.

Christians claim a lot of things about Jesus which Muslims deny.

Muslims claim a lot of things about Isa which Christians reject.

The only logical conclusion is:

Jesus is NOT Isa.

Isa is NOT Jesus.

They are two different men!

Let’s find further evidence to see if this could be true.

We don’t need to go into the common differences like:

– according to the Bible, Jesus died on the cross and rose again.

– according to the Quran, Isa did not die but was raised up.

because everyone knows these things and we argue about it everyday.

Let’s look at a few other crucial details for these two men.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Isa was born in an unknown town.

Muslims will say this is an unimportant fact about Isa. That’s why the Quran does not record it.

That’s the thing!  The place of Jesus’ birth is NOT unimportant to us!  500 years before Jesus was born, the prophet Micah predicted that Christ would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2) for the Jews to know their Messiah.  If it was unimportant, why did this prophet of God say it? It is recorded in the Bible.

It is not important where Isa was born but it is very important where Jesus was born!

Two different men.

Jesus said. “My words will never pass away.” (Mark 13:31). But according to Islam, Isa’s words, in the Injeel,  passed away, got lost, corrupted and does not exist anymore.

But we believe the words of Jesus did not pass away, just as He promised, and was recorded down by His disciples and exists as the Gospels today for us. We even know who Jesus disciples were, what they preached and taught and wrote down. On the other hand, Isa also had his band of sahabas but they are unknown. They are lost in history, nameless and voiceless.

Again two different men.  You can go on believing that your Isa lost his words and his sahabas failed to carry on his message.  That’s your right.  But we have the assurance from Jesus Himself that we have His words recorded down by faithful men who lived and died as martyrs.

The only common thing I can think of right now between these two men are the name of their mothers. Mary/Mariam.  This does not prove that they are the same person, does it?  Many people are named Mary / Mariam. We have 100,000 members on this page. I’m certain we have a few members whose mother’s name is Mary / Mariam but are they the same person?

Besides, according to the Quran, Mariam’s father is Imran. This is not the name of Mary’s father. They are two different women. Obviously they’re sons must be two different men.

Their mothers had the same name but are the names of their sons the same?

Jesus is derived from His Hebrew name, Yeshua. This would be translated into Arabic as Yasu (يَسُوعَ) and this is the name we find in the Arabic Bible.

Is this the name that we find in the Quran? No. No one named Yasu in the Quran.

What we find in the Quran Isa ( عيسى). Isa is the Arabic translation of the Hebrew name Esau!

Jesus is Yasu not Isa.

Isa is Esau not Jesus.

It’s so plain to see. Two different men.

If you do not agree, then you have to prove that Isa is the same person as Jesus.

The Bible teaches that ALL MEN are sinners.  (Romans 3:23)  This includes prophets too.  ALL.

JESUS alone was sinless.

Most Muslims believe that all the prophets were sinless. Is there a basis for such a belief?

Unfortunately the Quran does not suggest this.

ADAM sinned.  “And Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred.” Sura 120:121

NUH sinned and asked for forgiveness, “My Lord, forgive me and my parents.” 71:28

IBRAHIM sinned and prayed, “And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense.” 26:82

MUSA sinned and prayed and said, “My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me.” 28:16

DAUD sinned. “And David became certain that We had tried him, and he asked forgiveness of his Lord and fell down bowing and turned in repentance. 38:24

SULAIMAN sinned. “He said, “My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom” 38:35

MUHAMMAD sinned. Quran and Hadith is clear about this.

“So be patient, [O Muhammad]. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And ask forgiveness for your sin..” 40:55

“That Allah may forgive for you what preceded of your sin.” 48:2

Narrated ‘Aisha:

The Prophet used to say, “O Allah! I seek refuge with You from laziness and geriatric old age, from ALL KINDS OF SINS and from being in debt; from the affliction of the Fire and from the punishment of the Fire and from the evil of the affliction of wealth; and I seek refuge with You from the affliction of poverty, and I seek refuge with You from the affliction of Al-Mesiah Ad-Dajjal. O Allah! Wash away MY SINS with the water of snow and hail, and cleanse my heart from ALL THE SINS as a white garment is cleansed from the filth, and let there be a long distance between me and MY SINS as You made East and West far from each other.” (Sahih Bukhari Book 75 Vol 8 Number 379)

What about Jesus? The Bible says He knew NO sin.

Quran says: “Jesus… distinguished in this world and the Hereafter..” 3:45  Not a single other prophet was spoken of in this manner.

In the announcement of the birth of Jesus, He is described as pure, righteous, faultless, holy, in the various English translations of Sura 19:19. (See Sahih International, Muhsin, Pickthall, Yusuf Ali)

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, “When ANY human being is born. Satan touches him at both sides of the body with his two fingers, EXCEPT Jesus, the son of Mary, whom Satan tried to touch but FAILED, for he touched the placenta-cover instead.”  (Sahih Buhari Book 54 Number 506)

Do you know where your belief that the prophets are sinless came from? Not the Quran. It came from a scholar only in the 12 century AD, by the name of Abdulrazak who began teaching this falsehood 500 years after Muhammad!

So as not to contradic their own Quran, Muslims now say that the prophets didn’t sin but they made MISTAKES. 🙂 They were protected from MAJOR SINS. But they were susceptible to minor sins as human beings.   Moses killed a man.  Just a little mistake and a minor sin?

The Bible is not afraid to speak the truth about the prophets and even detail their sins.  The Quran covers up the sins of their prophets. What is there to hide? The fact is all men are sinners and need the grace of Almighty God.

Did Jesus Come To Fulfill The Law?

Posted: July 13, 2015 in Bible, Jesus

Did Jesus Come To Fulfill The Law?

Muslims say YES.
Christians say YES.

But both have a different understanding of the verse that addresses this question.

In Matthew 5:17, Jesus says: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”

The keywords are “the Law”, “the Prophets” and “fulfill”

When muslims read this verse, they have in mind the laws like not eating pork, etc.

That’s a very shallow understanding of this verse. Read it again.

“I have not come to abolish the Law”. There were many laws but Jesus specifically said “the Law”.

Every Jew understood what Jesus meant. Even if you ask Jews today, they’ll tell you….

“The Law” refers to The Torah, which are the books of Moses, that is the first five books of the Bible – Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.

“The Prophets” refer to the writings of all the prophets like Isaiah and others. These are the rest of the books that make up the Old Testament.

So when Jesus said that He had come to FULFILL “the Law and the Prophets”, He was saying that He was going to fulfill the entire Old Testament!

Let this truth sink in.

Now, naturally the next question one would ask is how does Jesus fulfill the entire Old Testament? What does it mean?

What does He FULFILL in the Old Testament?

The answer: He fulfills all the prophecies about Him in the Old Testament.

Before Jesus ascended into heaven, “He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be FULFILLED that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” (Luke 24:44)

Did you see that?

What was written about Jesus in the Old Testament (Law of Moses, the Prophets and Psalms) that Jesus fulfilled?

Throughout the Gospels you will find the answers. Dozens of examples of how Jesus fulfilled what was written about Him in the Law and the Prophets and Psalms.
Let’s look at just a few samples in Matthew.

In chapter 1:22-23 “All this took place to FULFILL what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

2:14 “And so was FULFILLED what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”

2:23 And he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was FULFILLED what was said through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.

All these are found just in the first 2 chapters of Matthew alone!

Read the New Testament and see for yourself how many Old Testament prophecies Jesus fulfilled. And there are still more prophecies yet to be fulfilled. These will be fulfilled when Jesus comes again.
This is the meaning of the word FULFILL. In the original Greek, the word used is πληρῶσαι (plērōsai), which carries the meaning: “to make full, to complete”. Jesus came to complete the prophecies in the Old Testament regarding himself.

The mistake muslim make is to assume that FULFILL in Matthew 5:17 means OBEY.

Wrong.  If OBEY was meant in this verse, the Greek word used would be hupakouó: which means “to listen, attend to”.

Who Is The God Who Heals Lepers

Posted: July 7, 2015 in Bible, God, Jesus

How many of you have read the story of Jesus healing the ten men with leprosy? You can read about in Luke 17:11-17

After they are healed, only one comes back to Jesus to thank him. The rest disappear.

Here’s what I want you to see. Pay attention to the words of the man and the words of Jesus.

15. One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!”
16. He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done.
17. Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine?
18. Has no one returned to give glory to God except this one?

The man came and prostrated before Jesus, basically praising and honoring and thanking and giving glory to Jesus for his healing

Now listen to what Jesus is saying: Are you the only one who has come back to give glory to God?

Do you see it? Jesus is claiming to be God!

Jesus didn’t say: don’t prostrate before me. Jesus didn’t say: don’t thank me, thank God for your healing. Jesus didn’t say: give glory to God alone, not to me.

This would have been exactly what a mere prophet, a mere servant, a mere messenger would say.

But, here we have Jesus asking why the others did not come back to Him to give glory to God. Jesus is God.

Once upon a time, there was a great and mighty King. He was wise and strong and generous and kind. He loved his people very much.

But His people were dying of a mysterious plague.  They did not know that their drinking water was contaminated by their underground sewage.

The King sent servants to help his people but he knew their help was only temporary relief for the people.  Only He had the answer and he was prepared to act to save them himself.

The King took off his crown of gold and jewels and set aside his glorious royal robe and he put on the ordinary clothes that the people wore and left the splendor of His palace.  He went into the midst of his own people.  They did not recognize him.

He descended into the sewage and did what had to be done so the people can have fresh, clean water to drink. Eventually a few began to realize who he really was and began telling the good news to others; about how their King sacrificed everything to come down and give them a new lease of life because of his great love for them.

However, most people took one look at the man covered in their own filth and said, “This can’t be our King!  Where’s his crown? Our King is too lofty to ever be dirty like this! Besides, he didn’t say, ‘I am your king; honor me.'”

After the work was finished, the King returned to His palace and put on his crown and royal robe again. The people who recognized who the King was and what He had done for them obtained a new source of life-giving water. The rest of the people who denied that it was the King, refused to accept what he had done for them and chose to continue drinking from the old contaminated sewage water, not realizing that they were heading for a slow, painful death.

Have You Talked To Jesus Today?

Posted: June 30, 2015 in Jesus

Both Christians and Muslims believe that Jesus is alive in heaven.

He can see us. He can hear us.  He didn’t become blind or deaf after He went to heaven.

Have you ever talked to Jesus?

He was a great prophet; and He was also kind and loving and friendly and always willing to listen.

Are we “qualified” to talk to Him?

Jesus said, “I call you friends.”

Isn’t it so amazing how such a great and holy and perfect man can be humble enough to call us, friends, even though we are weak human beings?

If He said it, He meant it.  And He did not change His character after He went to heaven.

The question is: Are we willing to accept His friendship today?

Of course, by friendship I don’t mean, we can be disrespectful or treat Him lightly or dishonor Him.

By “friendship”, I mean giving Him the honor and respect and love and also having the special privilege of being able to talk with Him anytime!

Do you know you and I can do that today?

Jesus said, “Come to Me, all of you are tired and heavy-laden; and I will give you rest.”

What an invitation! This invitation is still valid. Jesus never cancelled His call.

This means, when you and I have difficulties and problems that seem hard to handle, we can come and talk to Him. and He will help us and He will give us peace and rest.

Whether you have worries or anxieties or burdens or hurts or sickness, you can talk to Jesus and tell Him about it! Jesus still has the power to heal as He did when He walked on the earth 2000 years ago.

How can we talk to Jesus?

Simply by being honest with Him. We can respectfully talk to Him, like we talk to an honored guest in our home.  He is in heaven and He can hear you; imagine He is with you in your room; just talk to Him about whatever is in your heart. Example: If someone in your family is sick, tell Him. Ask Him to heal, just as He did before. He is still able to do miracles.

Why Do You Fast?

Posted: June 18, 2015 in Christian, Islam, Jesus, Muslim

It’s Ramadhan. Muslims all over the world fast.  Some muslims will say that even Jesus fasted, so they are better followers of Jesus than Christians. Really?

Jesus said: “When you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do; for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. Fast so that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”

You muslims announce to the whole world that you are fasting and you are proud of it. Jesus calls such people hypocrites. Your fasting brings you no reward.

Most muslims do not even know that Christians also fast because christians do not shout it out to world. It is between God and the individual. You dont even know when and why Christians fast, do you?

Why do muslims fast? Because you MUST. It’s a command. In some muslim countries, if you don’t fast you will be punished, so you do it out of FEAR.

Why do christians fast? Not because they have to. Christians fast because they want to. They do it, not out of fear, but out of love and devotion to the Father and to draw near to Him.

Think about why you are fasting. Are you sure you’re doing it for God or are you doing it so that others will see you fasting and you’d feel proud when they congratulate you for being a good muslim.

Happy ramadhan.
